If I were able to reach a wider audience, I would extol the virtues of voting Congress out every 6 years. There is no more crucial way of insuring proper Congressional legislature as the idea that a person will only have 6 years or less to get work done. This would allow for a regular turn over of personnel and leave no room for the current custodial thinking and deal making. Our Congress has essentially thumbed their noses at the voters by politispeak and the Congressional posturing we know so well. The idea that we elected them and our voices should be heard rather than the big donors and lobbyists is foreign to most of them. During the “campaign” season (all year) our tax dollars and donations pay for their indiscretions and errors while they continually assail the President (who ever that is) and cover their own Butts. The idea that Congress is working for the voters is ludicrous to say the least. These past several years have shown the true colors and make up of our Congress, they have been shown to be no better than the vilest of villains from our past history. They are as bad as some of the worse criminals we have read about and some who are currently incarcerated but they are unencumbered by bars or monitoring devices. These “representatives” apparently feel they are above the law even in the light of the trials and convictions their colleagues. Some of these disgraced political figures are not ashamed of what they have done and have even become lobbyists for the same companies and to their former colleagues. What we have are criminals in Congressional clothing who still believe the voters will forgive then and keep them in office. It is time to say enough!

In the 1950’s there was a TV show called “Racket Squad”.This show highlighted the various scams that were occurring and had occurred but never went away but were reinvented by the bunko artists using them. At the end of the show the main character (a fictional police Captain named Captain Braddock) stated this warning:” Remember there are people who will slap you on the back with one hand and pick your pocket with the other” This memory came to me when I read the small blurb regarding the “super committee” who is charged with ways to cut the deficits and balance the budget. This group of “ploticians” composed of “Scamocrats” and “Dupublicans” are the very same people who have no worries when it comes to retirement benefits as they and their predecessors have enacted laws that give them benefits the voters would love to have and are currently protesting and marching for across the country. This super committee is poised to propose cuts in Social Security benefits and not raising taxes where they should be raised. This is not to say that small business should have to shoulder any more burden than they do now but if our illustrious Congressmen were really in this for our benefit then we would not be where we are now and the political system would not be a failure. Remember That Congress has been in place through several Presidents so the fault is laid directly at their door. This is a classic example of “slapping us on the back and picking our pockets”.
