What is justice? Not many of us really know! WE have an understanding of the meaning but it does not necessarily mesh with what we  personally think it is. Justice can be revenge in disguise, it can be causing harm to someone through neglect or over attention or just correction through the legal system. In any case justice is purported to be blind yet is often perceived as biased. The real justice is the justice garnered through legal action and the results making the seeker happy. If the positive result does not create even a temporary euphoria then it may not be justice. When it rains justice (hardly ever happens) then the actual justice may not be justice but merely a result of the presented information being overwhelming even if it is not completely or not at all correct. So goes the justice system as we know it.

Recently (last several months)  I have repaired some unusual (for me) items. I have been able to repair, remodel and/or construct many things but these two cases have expanded my knowledge and in a way my ability.  The first is a refrigerator ice maker, this was not covered by the home warranty we have.  After getting the serial and model numbers, I began to search for information. This search brought me to several sites but one in particular gave enough details to indicate that I could conceivably make this repair. I made the necessary tests to determine if the actual ice maker was at fault or the water inlet valve. I determined that the ice maker was the problem and ordered what I needed, along with a replacement water inlet valve (the existing one was corroded).  I replaced the water valve after doing some needed plumbing remodel (this involved tapping into the main water line) to shorten the water line to the refrigerator. After this little job, I installed the new ice maker and fired it up (so to speak). I was disappointed when I got no ice but I looked around and found that one of the water lines on the back had come loose during the pulling and pushing of the fridge. Re-attaching  the tube, I again waited for the ice making to start, alas no ice. I reread the instructions and found out I had not adjusted the water intake on ice maker. After making this adjustment, I soon had ice-until the defrost switch failed followed a few weeks later by the defrost coil. These two repairs required a service visit (covered under the home warranty. Happy to report the refrigerator is now working as it should. The next recent repair was replacing the antenna on my cell phone (Cell phones do not work well when the antenna breaks!)This was a real treat, once I located and received the part, 4 screws and a push later I replaced the antenna on my cell phone. So my repair resume has increased along with a little suspender snapping.

Has anyone noticed that the advertisement posted by Instant Checkmate has a photo that looks remarkably like George Zimmerman? If you do not know this company, they offer a service to look up criminal records of anyone for a fee. This ad appears on many web pages.

In the years I have participated in group meetings of all sorts, I have noticed that some other participants have the need or urge to speak out at all meetings even if what they say is irrelevant , misplaced and often incorrect. It takes an effort to listen rather than speak. More often than we know the speaking does nothing to further a discussion beyond leaving a way to continue the discussion or pursuit of another discussion in the future and sometimes with no resolution. The adage that the “squeaky wheel” gets the grease has been so imbedded in many of us that it has become a curse. We have lost the art of listening and understanding, this does not mean you do or do not  have to agree with what has been put forth but it affords an opportunity to get a another viewpoint which may not be as far away from yours as you may think. Looking back at the major and minor events of this and  last century, many Americans from a wide assortment of circumstances have come together to create new laws and correct old problems. Even to day these coalitions are still in evidence. The pity is that our non  egregious 535 have not learned that lesson. We have a governing body that has evolved into a disparate group of talking heads who are all but non functioning. This is not about parties or personal beliefs but more about doing what is correct  for the Citizens and the Nation. This ability has been long-lost in public service from the smallest municipality to the Washington D.C.. The talking heads dominate the media but do nothing in the confines of the government  halls to govern as required by the Constitution.
