It is evident that a huge mistake was made by many voters during the last national election. The current seat filler of the oval office stated plainly what he was going to do if reelected and people voted him back in., we are now in the loose-leaf binder of his mind with pages that have torn ring holes! Each successive day of this occupation shows how ineffective the GOP led Congress and the minority DEMs have become under this grifter in chief aka Resident remodeler. The pure unadulterated or reckless actions have at once placed a distance between our allies although those actions have prompted those allies to take on a larger share of defense. The allies realize that if they do not coalesce and make decisions that do not heavily rely on the US, they will have issues and essentially allow the rise of the same issues that precipitated WWII.

We (the US) are fortunate that there are more rational world leaders who see what the “ponziesque” actions of the current seat filler are and are quietly placing guardrails on those schemes. The US voters have the hard job and that is to replace the “CAPO” and his sycophants with serious representatives of our states and the country.

Gop On The verge of doing something right?

KEVIN FREKING and LISA MASCARO

Updated Fri, December 12, 2025

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate failed to get anywhere on the health care issue this week. Now it’s the House’s turn to show what it can do.

Speaker Mike Johnson unveiled a Republican alternative late Friday, a last-minute sprint as his party refuses to extend the enhanced tax subsidies for those who buy policies through the Affordable Care Act, also called Obamacare, which are expiring at the end of the year. Those subsidies help lower the cost of coverage.

Johnson, R-La., huddled behind closed doors in the morning — as he did days earlier this week — working to assemble the package for consideration as the House focuses the final days of its 2025 work on health care.

“House Republicans are tackling the real drivers of health care costs to provide affordable care,” Johnson said in a statement announcing the package. He said it would be voted on next week.

Time is running out for Congress to act. Democrats engineered the longest federal government shutdown ever this fall in a failed effort to force Republicans to the negotiating table on health care. But after promising votes, the Senate failed this week to advance both a Republican health care plan and the Democratic-offered bill to extend the tax credits for three years.

Now, with just days to go, Congress is about to wrap up its work with no consensus solution in sight.

What Republicans are proposing

The House Republicans offered a 100-plus page package that focuses on long-sought GOP proposals to enhance access to employer-sponsored health insurance plans and clamp down on so-called pharmacy benefit managers.

Republicans propose expanding access to what’s referred to as association health plans, which would allow more small businesses and self-employed individuals to band together and purchase health coverage.

Proponents say such plans increase the leverage businesses have to negotiate a lower rate. But critics say the plans provide skimpier coverage than what is required under the Affordable Care Act.

The Republicans’ proposal would also require more data from pharmacy benefit managers, or PBMs, as a way to help control drug costs. Critics say PBMs have padded their bottom line and made it more difficult for independent pharmacists to survive.

Comment from provider: After 10 years the GOP is finally thinking about their constituents, this is a sad state when the leadership is too afraid of a “child” to take care of their constituents who should always take precedent! MA

From Michael’s Six word memoirs

Administration: incompetence from top to bottom!

It is horrific to see this country’s leadership headed by possibly the most historically corrupt and incompetent official since the founding of the country.

10 years plus is enough time

The GOP long opposition to the ACA (Obamacare) continues, instead of crafting “something better” the GOP has continued place roadblocks and restrictions in its implementation. (bear in mind that the GOP took the “better” parts of the healthcare bill and added to their own healthcare plans. Now we are still fighting the same fight and affecting the health of millions of Americans even down to many being unable to afford basic healthcare. The Congressional GOP members appear to being ignoring their own constituents’ dilemma along with everyone else’s.

It occurred to me that the citizens of the United States have been victims of a ploy known as” rope a dope “which was used so successfully by the “Great Muhamed Ali”. Knowing this and paying attention to news sources (such as they are) should be a loud wake up call to all of us. Every known statement about past tyrants seems apply to our current Resident. It is easy to complain and carp about our politics and governance but seemingly difficult to gear up for the next election opportunity. Every political shift in this country is an opportunity to change for the better, yet we elected a proven liar and thief! This person has surrounded himself with sycophants whose sole job is carry his water and pour it over all of us. The depth of the dishonesty in our government is quite deep and not showing any sign of lessening in this administration. I believe every citizen wants good and fair governance but we still fall under the blanket of Politi speak which sounds good but is sometimes just another “Rope a Dope”!

The past 11 months of the current administration has been a whirlwind ride of Presidential orders, the BBB and an assortment of “deals “connected to Tariffs (tariffs are taxes paid eventually by the consumers). The wider world of business uses discussions about trade to benefit all parties as much as possible, this arrangement has benefitted everyone for many years until now. With the advent of “Trumplestilskin” we have seen “flim flam”, sleight of hand, subterfuge and outright lies become norms in many areas including our national discourse. The current GOP Congress has besmirched and debased the once honest brokers in right side politics. They have joined the long line of “puckerers”who have deserted their electoral base (who they were elected to protect and serve). There appears to be no guardrail too sacred to supplant or alter to aid the “Boss”! The long list of “acting, appointed (with no Congressional input) members” of this administration have brought lawsuit after lawsuit with little to no stronger evidence than the “nightly utterings of a child”. This iteration of Governing appears to be no more than stooges waiting for the next Rant in order to function.

Might I suggest that all of us put on our grown-up pants, forget party lines and determine what type of Americans we want to be and be diligent in our information consumption. We can be the ally and leader the rest of the world has seen us to be and want us to continue to be or join the “kiddy” table! Billy Shakespeare stated that “all the world’s a stage and we are merely players ( loosely stated by me), we the United States have forgotten who the real leaders are and they are us!

Scott Bessent may (?) be smart in business but he is just more wasted space in the administration that already has more holes than Swiss cheese. As I listen to the various members of this administration all I hear is “word Salad” promoting Trumpelstilskin’s messages which appear at night like the elves in the fairy tale. Consider they are taking order from an adult “child” whose wrath they do not want to incur but love the high paying job in which they don’t have to do anything but follow his orders no matter how irresponsible they happen to be. This reminds me of the horror movie where the abnormal brain was put into a cadaver brough to life with electricity. As the world looks on, our allies do what they absolutely have to in order to continue with dealing with the United States while our adversaries laugh at his incompetence and continue their attacks, cyber and physical on us and our allies. Each of our adversaries continually commit acts that get Trumpel’s attention and rile him up so he can commit other actions to their benefit while studying our weaknesses. All of the so named red and Blue states are just another divisive tool to keep the people separate while he commits treason and theft while pointing fingers at everyone else. We must bear in mind that all who are in need of government services are affected no matter their party or personal preferences. If you feel the effects of these poorly planned and executed “executive orders” the remeber who stuck it to you when the next voting cycle comes around.

The GOP has decried “Obamacare” since its passage. Instead of putting in time to correct or amend it, they have railed against it in all its forms. The Congressional detractors have taken the parts they like and incorporated it into their own “Cadillac” health plan, while decrying how terrible it is for the people. According to public information many more millions of Americans were and are able to get affordable healthcare. There have been glitches sure enough but overall, no more than any public program. Social security didn’t hit the ground running! The Current administration is using any largely incorrect information to debase the program enjoyed by millions, including the detractors. This has become typical of this “occupier of the office” who has essentially usurped the power of the people and their elected representatives.

The country is being bombarded by illogical and dangerous rhetoric which makes no attempt at hiding the weakness of the Congress against the usurper.

To be clear, the so-called “Grifter in Chief” is punishing everyone under the pretense of targeting Democrats, which is absurd on its own. Cuts affect everyone indiscriminately. This deliberate targeting of states and cities borders on fascism. MA.

The White House is targeting Democratic states with its first wave of cuts to federal projects following the government shutdown, impacting billions of dollars in funding for energy and infrastructure in New York, California and elsewhere.

Russ Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget, said Wednesday the Trump administration is cancelling nearly $8 billion in funding for energy programs he characterized as part of “the Left’s climate agenda.”

The cuts will impact 16 states — all of which voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in last year’s presidential election. Vought did not identify exactly which programs would be cut in the social media announcement.

Earlier Wednesday, Vought said the White House is withholding $18 billion in funds from New York City’s Second Ave. subway and Gateway tunnel projects, the latter which connects New Jersey and New York.

New York-area lawmakers reacted with fury to the infrastructure cuts earlier Wednesday.

“Political revenge. Clearly outlined by Trump, time and again. He sees the U.S. as Blue and Red, and Blue states are enemies,” George Latimer (D-N.Y.), who represents the New York City suburbs in Westchester County, wrote in a text message to POLITICO. “As he has said many times, he hates his enemies; he is the retribution. Has he announced any rescission of any projects in Florida or Texas?”

Vought has not publicly announced cuts that affected a state that backed Trump in 2024.

The moves reflect Trump’s intent to undermine programs benefiting Americans in blue-leaning states, while leaders from both parties work to negotiate a government funding agreement. Trump has suggested the shutdown could offer a pretense to cut programs he doesn’t like.

“We can get rid of a lot of things that we didn’t want, and they’d be Democrat things,” Trump told reporters on Tuesday ahead of the shutdown.

Top Trump allies have also indicated the strategy could serve as leverage to bring Democrats back to the negotiating table. Vice President JD Vance told reporters during Wednesday’s White House briefing that the administration is prioritizing funding for essential services and argued that programs like the New York infrastructure projects may suffer as a consequence.

“We want to do everything that we can to help the American people but when the Democrats shut down the government, we have to actually do a little triage to make sure the most critical and most essential services are provided,” Vance said.

When asked for comment on the cuts targeting blue-leaning states, a White House spokesperson pointed to press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s comments during Wednesday’s briefing.

“There are unfortunate consequences to a government shutdown, and the federal government is not receiving any cash at the moment,” Leavitt said. “The Office of Management and Budget has been tasked with looking over the receipts and looking over the budget of the entire federal bureaucracy.”

Please note Ted Cruz for all of his MAGA adherence is finally speaking the facts! MA

GOP Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday denounced Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr’s threats to pull ABC’s broadcast license as “unbelievably dangerous” and compared some of his rhetoric to “mafioso” tactics.

In an episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” released on Friday, the Texas Republican said he was “thrilled” Jimmy Kimmel was pulled off the air by ABC over his comments about conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. But he said he strongly disagreed with the government policing speech, asserting it could come back to bite conservatives when Democrats retake power.

“I hate what Jimmy Kimmel said. I am thrilled that he was fired,” Cruz said. “But let me tell you: If the government gets in the business of saying, ‘We don’t like what you, the media, have said. We’re going to ban you from the airwaves if you don’t say what we like,’ that will end up bad for conservatives.”

Though Carr’s comments have drawn widespread condemnation on the left, Cruz’s remarks represent one of the strongest denunciations of the threats against broadcasters by an elected conservative. Cruz also chairs the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, which has broad authority over the F

“Going down this road, there will come a time when a Democrat wins again – wins the White House … they will silence us. They will use this power, and they will use it ruthlessly. And that is dangerous,” Cruz said.

Asked later by reporters on Capitol Hill if the Commerce Committee will hold hearings into the matter or investigate Carr if he continues in the same vein, Cruz left the door open to the possibility.

“There’s no doubt the Commerce Committee has oversight, authority and responsibility over the FCC, and when the Democrats had the majority, they did not engage in oversight … We will do our job and engage in oversight.”

President Donald Trump has also vaguely threatened to pull networks’ licenses if they air overwhelmingly negative coverage of him, though Cruz did not rebut the president’s remarks directly on the podcast.

Trump offered praise for Carr when pressed on the scathing remarks from the Texas Republican. “I think Brendan Carr is a great American patriot. So I disagree with Ted Cruz on that,” he said.

The president also continued to lament what he described as “dishonesty” from network broadcasts that are critical of him.

Cruz played recent remarks Carr made on far-right podcaster Benny Johnson’s podcast, in which the FCC chairman threatened to take action against broadcasters who don’t “find ways to change conduct” the government considers disagreeable.

“I mean, look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “These companies can find ways to change conduct, to take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or you know, there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.” ABC pulled Kimmel’s show off the air indefinitely the day after Carr made those comments.

Responding to Carr’s comments, Cruz said: “No, no, no, no, no.”

“Look, look, I like Brendan Carr,” the senator said. “He’s a good guy. He’s the chairman of the FCC. I work closely with him. But what he said there is dangerous as hell.”

“He says, ‘We can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way.’ And I got to say, that’s right out of ‘Goodfellas.’ That’s right out of a mafioso coming into a bar going, ‘nice bar you have here. It’d be a shame if something happened to it.’”

Cruz later added: “I think it is unbelievably dangerous for government to put itself in the position of saying, ‘We’re going to decide what speech we like and what we don’t, and we’re going to threaten to take you off air if we don’t like what you’re saying.’”

“And it might feel good right now to threaten Jimmy Kimmel,” the senator said. “But when it is used to silence every conservative in America, we will regret it.”

I am hoping the many people who reelected the current oval office resident are paying attention since they are most responsible for the extreme changes in our Democracy! The notion that he would make America Great Again is more like making America “Grate”. since he was played by the Russian strongman that he so wanted to emulate, the silence is deafening except for his sycophantic mouthpieces who in many cases shoot from the lip. If we are to survive this abominable administration, we must show up during the next election and get some real representatives who are brave enough to hold the line against his eccentricities.

There is no greater power than the power of a well-informed voter. Party is not a factor in these elections as all politicians lie! We can only determine who to elect by what they do. e.g. Ted Cruz who leaves town when crucial votes are needed- definitive no reelection!

The current atmosphere is reminiscent of the reconstruction era and the resulting mismanagement afterwards. Gold paint does not impart value to the object painted it just covers the dirt! Lest we forget the events of 1939 when one man convinced his countrymen that they were the superior race and we should govern all others. This brought about a massive buildup of war material which enriched the lives of the then downtrodden German populace while the “leader” plotted war plans on his neighbors. During that time a Russian dictator was busily committing pogroms and other crimes on their populace, these two menaces joined forces and began their “conquest” of the rest of Europe but notably the Russians did not actively join the “war” against Europe immediately but eagerly participated (against Germany) when the German warlord attacked his country.

All of this to show that we have a weak leader whose rhetoric is stronger (albeit) irrational than his abilities to deliver while having his every random thought published and often acted upon by his Cadre of staffers lead by the modern version of Joseph Goebbels (aka) Stephen Miller. It is within our power (voters) to make a correction in the upcoming election.
