Most companies, organizations and groups have a slogan or mission statement that is designed to summarize their purpose. In looking at many of these I have seen that not many of them follow their own directives. A newspaper states it prints ” all news fit to print” but prints what it deems proper according to its political bent. A non profit espouses empowerment but fires its workers when they start to form a Union. The government says it is for the people but the people have no real say in what it does. The representatives elected by the people soon become part of the problem as the long term office holders and party leaders dictate what is pursued in the name of the people. I see a trend towards “tell the people anything until we get what we need from them”. The mission statements and slogans are no more than the “come ons” used by advertisers to sell a product.

The recent elections have shown that the American people are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, however the major party winners are touting their parties victories without realizing that these changes are not based purely on party based campaigns but more on putting some different people in to the mix. These shakeups bode well for the future. As any seasoned politician should understand their constituents are choosing officials with more thought and with less influence from political rhetoric. We may at last get the changes sought with some major party figures now in place to make a good study on passed legislation
and tweak where needed. What they accomplish with this opportunity will show if they can do what they said they would or if it is just another political ploy for power. The voters now have a taste for blood (so to speak) and are no longer listening to half truths and innuendo.

The election part 1 is now over . The preceding hocus focus was enough to confuse anyone. Each candidate was focusing on either trashing his or her opponent and their party yet  no one was putting any focus on their own accomplishments or what they hope to accomplish. This lack of focus and side show campaigning leaves many of us confused about what they intend to do. Since we really only sort of know what these office seekers are planning to do or proposing to to, what do we do? This situation is prevalent in all parts of the nation and many of us (voters) make the tragic  mistake of voting for the incumbent or the person’s whose ad registers with us. It is apparent that the media blitz’s work as we become numb to the hype and do not really hear what is being said or not said. The political machine depends on us not hearing and understanding what’s being said so they can continue to pull the political wool over our eyes. These modern times of mass communication has brought us a deluge of poor information and misinformation that sounds great and enveloped in the air of truth wrapped around the body of  a lie.
