Has anyone noticed that the budget fights and debates are about things that do not take place immediately but have a long term effect? The spending cuts that have been top topics are for cuts that will save money over a ten year period not right now. The last cuts were put in place a number of years ago and then gutted due to a 10 year war. As peace keepers we spent less but as aggressors we spent upwards of 10 times more. These funds certainly helped the private sector employment but to what end? Recent cuts (sequester) and related public arguments have us all in a state of confusion which apparently a political ploy to do whatever they can to avoid doing what is necessary to move us ahead. The closing of schools is an issue that will have a far-reaching effect as the consolidations will no doubt create an over crowding situation which will at once dilute the training and teaching pool. Our crew of 535 disasters in power (Scamocrats and Dupublicans) through their collective effort to remain in office has done nothing that would not benefit them after the office and in office. Many of us do not know the exact nature of Congressional salary and perks such as health care and pension. The health care is under the same as all Government employees (not social security), the pension again under the government retirement (but available after one (1) full term). Now remember that the Congress and only Congress has the power to enact and pass legislature so by that power they took good care of themselves on our backs.
