The campaign trail is littered with innuendo , half truths and lies on all sides. This litter leaves many undecided , poorly decided and complacent. To get past this morass of campaign litter we as voters need to take a step back and look at the whole picture. First forget about the past records of the candidates these records are composed of many flip flops which often amount to nothing but make good fodder to rile the up the voters. The key to the best choice for each person is to avoid the debates which are no more than a beauty contest with none present and filled with vacuous statements. Politicians are just  giving the listener what they have asked for through polls and canvassing (and only what helps excite the voter). If a candidate has been an elected official it is not an endorsement for the highest office. It is easy to say I have experience however that is not experience in International affairs and there will be a cadre of people who oversee and report on those affairs. Campaigning against already established laws is not leadership but more political bluster designed to fire up the voters. Nobody seems to ask the people who benefit from these laws what they think about the laws that affect them. W e as voters need to end the forever train of politicians who barely tell us the truth and are well versed in exploiting our (often) unfounded fears . We need to end it now by learning the facts for ourselves and not repeating the words of others no matter how reasonable they sound.
