When purchasing first time or replacement plumbing fixtures, always buy Name brands. They do cost more but what you get is a lifetime warranty (read the information enclosed with the item) The instructions that come with the item has more than just instructions and troubleshooting information. There is also a lifetime warranty on the product. This covers the product 100% most of the time. All you have to do is REGISTER the product! You can do this online or by mail. If you do it by mail make a copy of the registration.  I have yet to pay for any replacement cartridges, handles or even the caps that identify hot and cold. This is how the major brands promote product loyalty and they are happy to help you.
