WE are bombarded by ads for insurances related to our homes and automobile. These ads all tout their ability to protect your homes and autos from expensive repairs. Bear in mind that these policies are not the normal home insurances we have in conjunction with our homeowners and autos. These are policies to cover repairs and not catastrophic events such as complete loss of use, temporarily or permanent. All of these additional insurances all make the same promise in their ads and from their many unwanted or unrequested cold calls. All tout themselves as the best by “star” ratings. If you read the “fine print” in their contracts, you will find that these contracts are definitively slanted toward the company’s “benefit. The language is extensive and worded in a pseudo legal manner. These companies use out of country non- native English speakers as customer service. Many times there is a lapse in understanding due to the limited English understanding and often your words are being translated as you speak but not with the common understanding of the language (conversational English). The worst of it is the claim of “1000”s of qualified contractors they have access to, “qualified” is subjective and often nonapplicable. To be clear ” Do Not Accept any Statements as to how great they (the company) are. If you decide to look into any of them, please read the ratings and pay particular attention in the reviews of 3 stars or less. Even the big star ring can be suspect as rating companies make money off of these listings.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!!!

It is apparent the former President DJT is a danger to America and its allies. We must believe that whatever DJT promises to do if elected no matter how outrageous, are his intentions and purpose. His presidency would be a culmination of all of the evils that currently exist among the dictatorial leaders he so much admires. There will be mass deportations (or attempts) for anyone perceived as other no matter their citizenship (born or naturalized). It is unfortunate that through a systematic and steady erosion of what history is taught or altered that many do not get the benefit of the true past 100 years of history. Our allies will remain as steadfast for us as we have been for them. Keep in mind that these allies have similar national issues as we now experience and with that comes the extreme actions we see in the middle east. We are at a turning point where we need to fully back or retreat from support of some of our allies who appear to be riding the Despot train much to the delight of prominent leaders whose sole objective is backwards looking and attempting to create the conditions that caused the second great war which destroyed countries and millions of lives. It is clear that many voters are undecided, uncommitted or not voting, my question to those folks is “Do you want the type of “non-government that DJT will give us since he is (supposedly) one of the 1%? His type of governing preceded the Great recession and ultimately the Second world war. The Authoritarian and despotic rulers rose to prominence and decided to attack other countries who disagreed with their politics. If you believe enough is enough then do not vote for DJT!!

Listening and watching a variety of news outlets who were speaking to a range of American voters, I was struck by the seemingly underinformed and single-issue voters who have their opinions without recognizing that whoever is the countries’ leader has less to do with parties than personalities. Some folks are not comfortable with a potential female woman of color, some have an issue with a Braggadocios con man. The prize in all of this is who controls Congress! It has been clear for many years that big money has more control of our government than many realize. WE were warned by President Eisenhower about this when he was in office. This is an excerpt:

“In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”

This means that the wealthy who have their own interests in mind will continue that line according to who the Titular head of the country is! In someone like DJT, they have a greedy self-serving person who caters to the 1% (who he is not part of and wants to be in spite of what he says). We must remember that many of our Congressional members are in the 1% and have no desire to hurt their own bottom line. If we do not dig deeper as voters, we are not serving ourselves and will continue to have a government (from top to bottom) which will serve us poorly. It is the practice in “politricks” to pander and misrepresent as it suits their personal agendas. Being informed on issues (old and new) makes for a informed voter. The choice has always been and will probably continue to be “lesser of two evils”!

Consequences result from all actions and spoken words. Since the advent of the “Newt Gingrich” era of politics word more than actions have been the primary source of agitation. Newt was a major influencer of using “certain words” to convey underlying meanings. He along with the “moral Majority” and other “noveau” groups took to airwaves and other media expressing many ideas that have become mainstream now. The Right” has long been advocates of Government over reach for their purposes while suppressing Government activities that benefit a majority of citizens. It would take a minimum of 3- 4 tomes to explain the ways our society has been changed (attacked) by the extremes of both hands (right and left), the tough part is teasing out the facts which has been left to us the readers and consumers of news and information. Key to information (factual information) is spread over many sources and it has been left to the reader (consumer) to collect and understand. Facts never change while the opposite of facts constantly shifts.

Benjamin Netanyahu has proven how little control or compassion he has a leader. Let’s just get something said: Hamas and other decidedly anti-Israel entities are terrorists! The many opportunities to establish a Palestinian state have been wasted. That area has seen wars and bloodshed for years with at best many uneasy Peaces. There have been opportunities to create a lasting peace but the people who had the possibility or ability to create a Palestinian state and allow Israel to coexist within the area are gone. Their removal has allowed Dictators and radicals to assume and take power in the vacuum. Currently we have a entire population that is now becoming enemies of Israel when all they wanted was a state of their own. True enough the radical Palestinians in association with other bad actors from surrounding countries have contributed to the Chaos but the recent events have set the course of peace back years.

The solution is now more distant but still possible with the right people in the right places and in cooperation the moderates on all sides.

Apparently, the political class has fallen into disarray along with their seemingly inability to do the simple job of legislating instead of “gotcha” politics. Some of us are relishing the hyperbole and vitriol while missing the point that no rational or reasonable legislation is being offered or proposed. This is not them against us, it is the elite’s will being done by legislators we (the people) elected to do our (the people’s) work. Promises made, promises broken always no matter what is said on the stump. party designations are no more than identification for voting purposes, what we (the people) need to heed are the words and deeds along with the effects on our lives.

Apparently, the high court is as corruptible as “the former guy” and so much of the GOP/ Dems The modern-day politics have become more of a “knee jerk” war rather than a movement to inform voters on the candidates. Remember the High court opened the door for “dark money”, so no surprise in recent revelations and rulings.

Engagement is empowerment! In order to feel empowered is to dig through the obvious trash and look back a bit at what has occurred. Each administration benefits from the work of the previous one (sometimes). When the time to elect a Head of state arrives look at history and understand what was done and the effect it has now. All work done is not grandiose, fully 90% is done by routine daily work. Sensationalism is to benefit the larger public many of whom want instant action, but Government does not work that fast sine what they do affects millions not just a few. Following the crowd is not the way to change government, voting with intelligence is!

The reason for Trump is dissatisfaction with Government but the focus needs to be directed at the people we elect on the Congressional level. The myriad of political views which are excited by the election and ongoing tweet governance of DJT (TOTUS, #45 or your preferred description) have proven to be more of a distraction than attraction. The assorted Named groups from Conservative to progressive and the subsets that exist all appear to  have a similar agenda and that is get their way without considering how their way affects everyone else. There is and never will be a perfect solution to governing or lawmaking. The best we can hope for is electing people who are as middle of the road as possible. Our current political campaigns are fueled by huge amounts of money since the Citizens United ruling (Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010), is a landmark U.S. constitutional law, campaign finance, and corporate law case dealing with regulation of political campaign spending by organizations. The United States Supreme Court held (5–4) on January 21, 2010 that the free speech clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution prohibits the government from restricting independent expenditures for communications by nonprofit corporations, for-profit corporations, labor unions, and other associations.)  Along with this ruling came the darker side of politics, the name calling, the barely true and unlikely true statements. Essentially the idea became a Goebbels-Hitler method of politics. This method follows any National unrest or upheaval, ours was the early 2000’s financial collapse brought on the greed in the Real Estate debacle of sub prime mortgage lending and the shock to some citizens of Having a person of color being elected President. The long string of anti anything or person of color was proudly pushed by this administration with no regard for the long range effects. All of the showy signing of rollback executive orders with no regard or understanding of the harm that will ensue should give ALL of us a reason to vote for people who will (we hope) fight back on these types of roll backs. The multitude of “buzzwords, sound bites and outright lies” should not be the convincing information to vote for anyone. As voters it is our DUTY to get All of the facts even if we don’t like them. With facts one can make a reasonable choice of who represents us. It is well to remember that Washington has the power to corrupt and once we understand that, we must keep backing the most honest of our lawmakers no matter which party they serve under. It is well to remember that this administration conflate lie with the truth as a matter of course along with the extreme conservatives who interfere with the work and funding of Women’s and low income citizens nutritional health.

Everything coming out the white house is riddled with almost and alternate facts. No “poor people” in the cabinet, these are rich people who have nothing in common with the neediest people who are and have been under represented by Congress (the people they elected to serve them) , now they (the “poor people”) are served by Rich people who have no interest in serving people they have exploited for years and now have even less interest in serving them. All of the past administrations have been attempting to better the conditions of the oft cited “American people” but instead the long serving Congress has short circuited those efforts whenever they could and making the American People drink the “poison Kool-Aid” while telling us it is good for us. If you are an ardent Trump supporter it may be too late for an antidote. The campaign for the office is over , it is time to govern not tweet us into more problems. Most people who do not know something, will look it up, ask for help and learn what needs to be done but that cannot be done on social media from possibly a Loo. The main issue is that many Americans with justification are fed up with Government’s lack of or poor administration. This issue has been around d for many years before President Obama yet the blame was placed on him because of skin color. Too many people have allowed their personal bias to get in the way of facts and these biases were stirred up by the lesser an among us who have not gotten past post civil war feelings. If we as Americans do not or chose not to understand that we are the actual “illegal aliens” since we decimated the Native American populations through wars, disease and attrition. It is time that we as Americans understand that our “leaders (on)” will mouth any homilies or quotes that will get them what they need , whether it’s a political office or just the purchase of their products. The loss of jobs has more to do with the involved Companies need for maintaining revenue than anything else. The coal companies did not want to upgrade facilities to insure the safety of the workers and allow for pay increases to insure the workers ability to care for families. Think about the runoff or slag that pollutes the air and water supplies. This administration is a dream come true for industries but a larger boot on the backs of Americans. Do not drink the Kool-Aid!
