Our ignorance is their strength this appears to be the mantra of the infamous “535”. Our “illustrious” Congressional representatives have brought the idea of  “serving” to a new low. Their veiled attempt at convincing us of their devotion to serving the country and their constituents is and should be as transparent as glass. The fiscal abyss the Nation is standing on is not the fault of this President or the ones before him. It primarily the making of the self serving 535 who so “proudly” we hail. The past 3 presidents have fought the same fights that the current one has fought since day one without  it being it Racial (until now). That makes me think our representatives truly do not represent us all. These seat fillers have made a business of  keeping us ignorant of what is really being done in our name and making us like it. When another  idea is proposed that would potentially  upset their “routine” then they spring into action to stop the action or derail the train (of change). 535 reasons to make changes is the directive given to the voters and has been the directive for the past 29 years. Recently several states have disenfranchised voters with laws that prohibit their ability to vote. The issues are ID’s that many have not had but are and have been registered voters for years. These laws unfortunately affect more non whites in some “Dupublican” strongholds. The leadership of both party’s have made a living  off of the ignorance of the voters and that ignorance is perpetrated by their agents and ally’s. It is our right to change Government beginning with the people who profess to represent us.

The latest movie  offered by a conservative republican is more fantasy than any Disney Movie. The producer is a “naturalized” U.S. citizen who through the good graces of his adopted country  has at this point outdone himself. Given the track record of Mr. Dinesh D’Souza this latest offering is absolutely ludicrous at best. The RNC  (if involved) should hide their heads in shame (of course that hasn’t happened  with all of the other outrages they have committed). To get a bit of background on Mr. D’Souza (who doesn’t have the grace to address the President with dignity). It is worthwhile to examine Mr. D’Souza’s background. The movie which has received much attention was fact checked and found to be more fantasy and innuendo than fact. Inserted below is the fact checking link. I have taken no sides but I maintain that anything issued that is not fact should not be published but then where would “yellow journalism be?”

In the interest of getting as much truth as possible out I am enclosing a link
to a fact checking of the “Obama movie. This has noting to do with whether you
like him, hate or whatever, just putting out information. It is also worthwhile
to read up on the producer (Dinesh D’Souza) of the movie who is a”naturalized” citizen who has
espoused some pretty radical views about his “adopted” country.

FACT CHECK: Anti-Obama film muddy on facts – Yahoo! News

“2016: Obama’s America,” a new conservative film exploring the roots of President Barack Obama’s political views, took in $6.2 million to make it one of the highest-grossing movies of last weekend. The film, written and narrated by conservative scholar Dinesh D’Souza, argues that Obama was heavily influenced by what D’Souza calls the “anti-colonial” beliefs of his father, Barack Obama Sr., a Kenyan academic who was largely absent from the president’s life.

Using the Jewish people as the scapegoat, Hitler and his cronies orchestrated what they called “the big lie.” This theory states that no matter how big the lie is (or more precisely, because it’s so big), people will believe it if you repeat it enough. Everyone tells small lies, Hitler reasoned, but few have the guts to tell colossal lies. It appears that He was correct in that assessment of people, especially when their situations are dire. We have been spoon fed more big lies than Adolph could have imagined but it concerns a more diverse population than the one that existed  over 60 plus years ago. Once a lie is told it quickly become a pseudo truth as it grows in size and seems more believable due to the trauma of the  existing conditions (in our case, the economy). Our so called leaders have seen this bust coming for the past 10 or more years yet have done nothing in the hope that it will all work out. At the same time they have been busily pointing fingers at one another while accomplishing no more than a rush of hot air infused with half truths , no truths and untruths. We must remember that during this time the Legislators have drawn their same pay with increases along with the nice retirement and healthcare package. If the legend of Pinocchio were true there would be no room to stand in the Legislatures across the country.

Many lessons in school are learned by rote yet we often forget them. The single lesson (s) we cannot seem to remember is that ALL politicians lie! There are no honest politicians. There are some who have better values but each one of them has “fudged” the truth when speaking to constituents, this fudging is often used to “protect” us from the real truth which they seem to believe we cannot handle. We voters are all adults and even if some are newly minted , we are not ignorant to the facts of life beyond our front doors. The modern world is so inundated with media coverage on all events from the mundane to the sublime so few events remain uncovered. The only exceptions are the ones our representatives do not want us to know (to protect us and themselves).  Illinois has a reputation as a corrupt state but that reputation is mislabeled as the State is  not corrupt, it is the policy makers and political “movers and shakers”. This is evident by the Governors closing of prisons, failing to fairly negotiate with the trade unions  and other missteps due to errors in judgement. These problems do not belong solely to the Governor as much if not more falls directly on the shoulders of the State representatives, a recent example is the vote of an absent representative entered by a colleague. This was explained by a statement that this is done routinely and is no big deal. If the representatives cannot be on the job when necessary, why do we need them? One more time, it is incumbent on the voters to correct this situation by removing long serving legislators and electing new ones who serve at our behest and will correct the ills of the past. The first item on the agenda should be term limits, salary and perks review. The primary effect this will have is no more pensions for lawmakers as most if not all of them have careers that pay them well enough.

During the 200,plus years of Americas existence, we have subsidized several countries that now are fiscally better off than we are. Our innate humanitarianism could be our last straw. Japan has become a leader in innovation electronically and industrially. Germany is a major player in the European economy. Both of those country’s have benefitted from our post war largesse and far distanced us in development and manufacturing. We have allowed companies to move jobs and manufacturing to second and third world countries at the loss millions of jobs, leaving factories unused and cities devastated. Now we want to blame the current President rather than the real culprits who number 535 more or less. How can these few people cause the damage done to our productivity? They have made enough progress at home where it is visible to hide the work they have done for  big businesses who have outsourced  manufacturing and other labor to the detriment of America. These companies have been subsidised with tax breaks to make these moves and we have paid for it. Now the 500 plus and their allies have teamed up to hang the Albatross of failure around the neck of the current president and any one else they can. They attempted to do this in previous administrations but we did not pay attention, now they are aiming us toward the first non white American President being at fault and if we do not wake up we will be even deeper in the hole than we are now with no ladders to crawl out with. America will become the home of the poor with Congress still reaping the harvest of their treachery and deceit.

The past several election seasons of all types have given rise to the thought of “why do we need party’s to follow”?  As voters we have been handed choices of the two major party’s along with the many subsets and their assorted pieces. Initially the party’s represented more of the population than it does currently. The new subsets and derivative pieces appear to have more influence than we realize as they have organized to the point of having enough money to buy attention grabbing airtime and written coverage. These organizations have the tacit  “OK” of the major parties so they really act as the “guerilla fighters” of the parties. Many of these Guerilla fighters are funded by the same monies that flow into the major party’s coffers. We as voters are beset on all side by the Primary parties whether we realize it or not, the guerillas appeal to our underdog side and their real purpose escapes us as we cheer for them until they turn around and bite us. Every group, party and subset has an agenda that does not necessarily benefit all or any of us. Who are the beneficiaries of these activities? To be sure it is not the majority of the American voters even though we put them in play through our votes and indulgence. My solution is to depart the party’s and vote the issues not the candidate but first research the issues for our selves.

Our Declaration of Independence and subsequent  Constitution refers to us (Americans citizens) as “the people; a people or we the people” and other references that denote the U.S. population. Looking at the short history of America and our large presence on the world stage one could wonder why we have made so little progress in Racial issues. The ascendency of a non white American to the Presidency has awakened the dogs of racism in several areas of the country which we have long known and suspected of being still firmly entrenched in the ante bellum days of our country. Recently  a law enforcement officer in the “great” State has requested funds for more deputies to be ready for the war that will ensue once Mr. Obama is reelected. The idea that this will happen and the fact that this comes from a Prominent Law officer who resides and presides in a state that historically has not dealt well with non whites is at once ludicrous and absurd. Even receiving airplay or written acknowledgement is enough to encourage the evil that is indicated by his words. The people who will be encouraged are the folks who need no encouragement to hate and maim for color and religious difference but will use his words as an OK to do it, under the idea that they will not be prosecuted. I am wondering if “WE the people” will allow it!

History of Socks and Stockings

When did it all begin? I’m sure you can guess why…our feet were cold. But have socks and stockings changed all that much over the years?
Way back in the cavemen days, we used animal skins gathered around the ankle and tied for socks, sometimes animal furs to keep us extra warm. In early medieval times, those who wore socks were considered of the noble classes. Socks were woven or sewn by hand. And in the 16th century with the invention of the knitting machine, tighter woven socks were made. They were often made of wool for the general population and silk or cotton for the upper classes. It wasn’t until the early 20th century that nylon socks were introduced.
The above being said, why is now the rule to make socks, no matter what style cover a number of size ranges? I recent purchased several packages of white crew socks after not having to buy any for a number of years and prompted by the elastic giving up. When looking I sought out my size or the equivalent (since many things that are made outside the U.S. have European equivalents). I found that the size I needed was a range of 9 to 12, I wear a size 8 or 81/2 shoe (depending on where the shoe was made) so I assumed ( remember assume makes an ass out of u and me) that size would be fine. Upon duly washing these new socks, I wore a pair the following day and to my surprise they were 2 inches longer than my foot. When you pull the sock up so your toes are in the actual toe,  the heel portion is above your shoe line if you wear low-cut shoes like some of us do. I am brought to the thought of “when did the sock go so wrong that manufacturers would disrespect it by making them fit so poorly giving rise to blisters and discomfort from wrinkles that irritate the foot”? Since writing this post I contacted the “Hanes Company” regarding the range of sizes and the inherent flaw in this type of manufacturing, their reply is attached: Dear Mr. Abrams,Thank you for your email.  In order to give full attention to your comments and address any concerns we kindly ask you to supply the following information, if available:

My Reply:

Let us be honest here, you have been making these type of socks for years and no one apparently has complained. I do not have any of the items you have requested but I am just a disgruntled customer who has decided to write to you about it. My decision is just that I will only buy socks that have my size on them and not a range of sizes, while I prefer yours buying them is not set in stone. Thank you for a reply anyway.I have mentioned your product on my blog.
Given that this is possibly not a new issue, I am of the mind that I should begin to look for any hose that fits by size instead of a range

Augusta has finally come into the 21st Century! I am not a golfer or particularly a Golf fan (until Tiger arrived). What I see now is an indication that America still has some issues before really being the beacon of democracy we profess to be. Granted that the two new inductees are high profile and intelligent women but what about the professional Women golfers who have come before?  Step by slow step the bastions of manhood are becoming places of the American way. This step will hopefully motivate movement in some other pockets of exclusion that still exist.
