Our Declaration of Independence and subsequent  Constitution refers to us (Americans citizens) as “the people; a people or we the people” and other references that denote the U.S. population. Looking at the short history of America and our large presence on the world stage one could wonder why we have made so little progress in Racial issues. The ascendency of a non white American to the Presidency has awakened the dogs of racism in several areas of the country which we have long known and suspected of being still firmly entrenched in the ante bellum days of our country. Recently  a law enforcement officer in the “great” State has requested funds for more deputies to be ready for the war that will ensue once Mr. Obama is reelected.The idea that this will happen and the fact that this comes from a Prominent Law officer who resides and presides in a state that historically has not dealt well with non whites is at once ludicrous and absurd. Even receiving airplay or written acknowledgement is enough to encourage the evil that is indicated by his words. The people who will be encouraged are the folks who need no encouragement to hate and maim for color and religious difference but will use his words as an OK to do it, under the idea that they will not be prosecuted. I am wondering if “WE the people” will allow it!

Our Congress has become a 500 plus group of neer do wells who  exist under the auspices of  the American people. These  so called representatives have spent more time being media darlings than doing the actual work they were elected to do. These Scamocrats and Dupublicans barely take time to read the proposed bills let alone pass anything of consequence. They have made an art of  extending the passage of necessary bills into law that should, could or perhaps maybe benefit their constituents. The victims are the people of America who voted them in. They and their party’s have managed to polarize the public in a divide and conquer action that benefits their agenda, not the people who elected them. The Congress has used every devious means available to keep their jobs on the backs of the people. The people who have suffered the most are the most prone to be swayed by their misinformation and often lies. The pundits who are no more than pawns in this chess game are  complicit as any abettors in a criminal enterprise. It is incumbent on the people to remove these seat fillers and demand better representation with term limits that will eliminate the ongoing theft from the American people.

The latest campaign issue is Israel. Mr. Romney has traveled to Israel to improve his image to the Jewish people which he hopes will translate into votes for his election. That is politics however any aspiring candidate to the Oval office has only a schtickel of information on the situation. There are ongoing nonpublic communications and efforts underway all the time. Everything that is done cannot be made public because the participants of these talks have to look after their “interests”  (translates into their people). People do not react well to the information being discussed as our humanness sometimes works against us. Diplomats while sometimes not our favorite people have to face off daily with the other diplomats to design a plan that suits both sides even if the plan is  not perfect. The Palestinian and Israel situation is just that, a situation. Situations can be resolved with effort but can be resolved. Both sides want what they want yet cannot have it without a fight. That fight involves other surrounding countries creating an underlying uneasiness. To make an observation: many of us may not remember the struggle to establish an Israeli state in the mid forties but that struggle was the culmination of thousands of years of a type of exile from their original homeland (Moses’ leading the people out of Egypt). During those years the Jewish people were in every country and prospering as small groups. Even these small groups were tormented and detested primarily for being Jewish. These abuses became evident in Hitlers reign of terror as we all know and have read about. This fight for Israel has undertones with the “darker Jews” who are shouldering an additional burden of skin color. What the issue appears to be in the Palestinian-Israel issue is how much land should be ceded to the Palestinians, essentially where will the borders be? We all as humans want what we want and often will not understand that we can live with less and still be happy. This is not to make light of a serious situation  when dealing with a group that  has had to fight for freedom and the right to exist. I totally object to politicians using a tense diplomatic case  to garner votes and essentially this is what Mr. Romney’s campaign is doing. As an aside  consider the several religious sects that are also fighting for survival in other countries in the region against repressive regimes, this also  colors the Israeli-Palestinian situation

Reading several publications on a regular basis has given me a broad view of what we are as people. Many of us have no idea of who they are. They think they are liberal but how liberal? They think they are conservative, but how conservative? They think they are somewhere between but where? This brings up the issue of what we actually believe about the economy and what we know. What we Think we  know about the Affordable Healthcare act and what we know. If we read more about these issue ourselves, we would come to the conclusion that we actually know little. The  dependence on what is aired is often short of real facts. The constant nattering of the party political faithful is often  skewed to garner the most support. Many people will vote in the upcoming Presidential election under a  veil of misinformation and the unspoken (and ignored) issue of Race. For clarity: the economy will get better at some point no matter who is in office as sure as it went south with no help from the government. The Congress we have now is as useless as the proverbial teats on a “Boar hog”. Our salvation will come when we the people control the congress instead of relying on them to do what they were elected to do. We do not need media darlings in Congress , we need serious people to do serious work. The key is term limits and revision of their benefits with pensions that mirrors the voters.
