The larger world outside of the United States is in turmoil, every country large and small is making headlines of some sort. We have the health epidemics in many areas, small wars and incursions in the Eurasian areas. We have the popular uprisings in several countries around the globe. All of these issues point to the progressing world we live in. Meanwhile our gang of 500 plus have factions who are attempting to influence politics outside the U.S. by writing letters to countries involved in critical negotiations and inviting high profile  political speakers without notifying our state department. These 2 actions alone seem to show their disrespect for the President of the Unites States and the American people  (who they purport to represent ). It is unfortunate that our Current Congress has no other purpose than their own personal gratification which history will show as massive ego and ineptitude. The overall Congress (a name I mistakenly attributed as the name for a troupe of Baboons (what an insult to the Baboons) has several factions whose sole purpose is to overturn the ACA and put the middle class in a lower position and the lower class in yet a lower class. We have the Supreme court (almost solidly pro Dupublican) which has effectively overturned the voting rights act and created a 1960’s feel to the country. Our current sitting Congress are no more than a group of men obsessed with power and  beholding to them selves. The factions therein who we voted in have now shown their true colors and those colors run! The bottom line here is our Congress had an opportunity to act as legislators but decided that acting in a covert and many times overt racial manner have brought the office down to a criminal level.

Is it about time we looked at this situations seriously? Some police groups are concerned about their supposed lack of support by their municipalities however have they really looked at what the effect of their actions are? did you make mistakes? Were mistakes made by the now victims? If we were to put aside our learned biases and perceived knowledge, what would be the outcome? I know from personal experience that it s easy to fall into the rut of common knowledge about many things and people. Where we all need to be is on the same or even similar  planes of thought and realities. Many or most of us have met and worked with people who are different in many ways but we consider them friends and colleagues. We probably do not consider  their religious, personal or other leanings and proclivities to be an advantage or deterrent to our relationship with them but we will look at people we do not know and judge them out of hand. This is called bias, prejudice or bigotry. It is unfortunate that too many of us  never look at how we interact with all other people and make an attempt to do better if we need to. The real issue is our “leaders” in the political arena have for the past 10 to 15 years used bigotry as wedge and  coercive agent to gain elective advantages. It is unfortunate that some of us haven’t realized that your fellow Americans are not the problem-the problem is with the people we have elected. Their focus is and always has been remaining in office and maintaining the power with that office. Our collective objective as voters needs to be holding the elected officials accountable and not be persuaded by  half truths, racial or ethnic  slurs that many of us have heard time after time. America is a multiracial, multi-ethnic  and  ultimately humane country that is (in spite of what is in the media) aspired to by other countries. To continue being who we are, our changes need to be in our government.

The now majority party in Congress has set us on a path of grinding poverty for the poorest of Americans and almost sure denigration of the upper to middle class. The 1 week funding of DHS (National security) is another step in their commitment to their masters (not the American People whom they are so fond of citing). These Dupublicans now have the ability to do something right but have began to follow the path of ineptitude and dragging the country along with them. I am sure that their actions do not represent the will and needs of the “American People”. I have listened to and read many editorials and opinions by many people from ordinary folks to political pundits and very few of us fully grasp the impact this Congress will have for years to come. I suggest that if all or any of us ignore  what is said and look at the actions, we will quickly understand that we are the government and we have allowed these politicians to pull the political wool over our eyes. The two party system is useless and it is time we as voters abandoned it and find our own voices with non party or apart candidates yet  be  prepared to remove them when necessary. Voting as independent as possible which then becomes “term limits”!

The U.S. Senates strikes again! The Senate has deemed themselves to be doing their jobs by passing a temporary funding of one the most important agencies we have. Hey- isn’t Mitch McConnell in charge of the Senate? Did we not hear him say how the Senate was going to be functional again? Thank you all of the folks who voted these guys in the majority in spite of information indicating the results of poor information and the Government shutdown several years ago. Is it possible that many voters have been “Koched”

The new majority Congress is again acting “on behalf of the American people” with out our consent. This Congress with the backing of big money and the help of closeted bigots is aiding our enemies indirectly with the withholding of funding for the agency  (Homeland Security) that provides protection for us all. There are members who have stated that the funding should not be held up but the top dogs or curs of the Congress are at a loss to control their members and are hoping to keep an edge for the upcoming 2016 elections. These masters of ineptitude are showing us now how bad they really are since they do not have the Scamocrats to blame. How is it doing the work of “The American People” when they put us at risk to satisfy the few?  If ” The American People ” was really their concern, they would have acted appropriately on the ACA (Obama care) and the emigration bill . All that was required was for them to do the job they were elected to by the “real American People” not the fictional ones they are so fond of quoting. This is not about Race, ethnicity or anything else, it just about inept politicians whom we trusted and have now betrayed that trust. Our job (the real American People) is simple, we vote them out and trust nothing that passes from their lips!

Now that the Dupublicans have control(?) of the Congress we are now waiting to for the change in how government  and Washington works (remember how they resisted  when the President said it?). The party in power is fractured within its ranks and now has presented legislation for the Keystone pipeline which in its concept would produce approximately  4000 jobs for the time it takes to complete the pipeline and about 50 permanent jobs  at its finish. The construction period will enhance the areas where the construction  will take place but thereafter the areas will  return to their previous states and sometimes worse. The Power party will do what is required for votes and that is how they act on everything, this is no different when the Scamocrats are in power . While we wait for the changes that the Majority power has promised (in our names), its business as usual in the political world-get ready for the next election. This makes one wonder why do we continue to vote for the same people? The best thing we as voters can do is to go against our established patterns and vote for “outsiders, in doing this we can gain control of our government and show that “we the people” are the “bosses” of our Government. Meanwhile-“we wait”!

Now that the Congress is has a majority of Dupublicans, the down  hill slide has begun. No matter what anyone thinks, these folks especially the most vocal ones do not- I repeat do not have the best interest of the country in mind. If this was the case we would not have had a government shutdown, we would not have the immigration reform issue as an issue, we would not be struggling with the ACA (Obama care). Bear in mind that the only thing these twerps want is name recognition and media coverage. Mitch and John probably do not even like one another since one is a “Yankee” and the other is a “Reb”. It is unfortunate that with all of the progress we have made in this country  that we have made none in the area of race. I would venture that the most vocal of us do not share or care about the Racial views of the few but the few seem to get the most press. In this country of immigrants, we are still lagging in realizing the heritage that made us could be the heritage that breaks us. Out true feelings in the Congress has been made clear with the election of a “non white” President. The only thing the Congress apparently sees is skin color and ignoring what is presented as  positive changes for the country as a whole. The ACA which has had issues could have been better had Congress addressed it as they should have and made changes where needed, instead they naysaid it and offered no improvement except  concepts of death camps and poor coverage. With the Majority now being the party of “no”, we are in for an underperforming Government which may be unprecedented. The latest issue is the Keystone XL pipe line. There are no less that 10 oil pipelines crossing the US right now. One more will not create any significant amount of jobs  and the completion of it will end most of them. The only purpose of the pipeline is to move oil sands across country which is being accomplished now by modified rail cars. To make matters worse the Congress has tied this bill to the funding of Homeland security which once the bill is vetoed will allow them to blame the President for not supporting  Homeland thereby attempting to put the blame elsewhere. Simple fix detach the XL pipeline from Homeland funding and debate the pipeline separately instead of playing games with the National Security. This is why we are in “Status Woe”

The recent news in Ferguson, MO. could be looked at from the view of John Brown or perhaps Nat Turner. If indeed the Police situation in Ferguson is as bad as it has been portrayed then maybe  John Brown or Nat Turner were correct. If the situation in Ferguson is as bad as put forth by the residents then maybe “spike Lees’ film  “do The Right Thing” was correct. Each instance depicts an aggressive stance against  an authority that mirror’s the ante bellum south and even South Africa in the recent past. If the “white’ citizens of Ferguson knew about the abusive nature of the police and did nothing then perhaps they are as culpable as the authorities. All American citizens have the “right” to freedom of expression under the law but even now that appears to be elusive in some parts of the USA with the citizenry standing on the sidelines and accepting it as long it doesn’t happen to them. There are still some of us who accept the inequity of the “color line” as white privilege until it arrives at their doorstep, then it becomes “those people”. It is possible that at some point all of us will arrive at the same destination without a “Ferguson” and then there will be equality.

The Dupublicans now have control of the Congress, it is now time to put up or shut up. As an aside this past election shows how terms are managed by people not lawmakers.

Recent and ongoing events in the Near and Middle east will eventually affect us all. We as a nation can understand in various degrees what is needed to secure certain parts of those areas and hopefully bring cease fires and peace. Our deeper understanding is explainable by remembering the prelude to WWII. This prelude if anyone has paid attention was televised in a series called the “World Wars”. Aside from the personalities explored, there were the actions and events. These actions and events gave rise to the WWII personalities some of whom began the building a foundation of eventual murder, mayhem and intolerance that fueled the final madness of A. Hitler. This individual caused the devastation of  his Nation and betrayed his “Allies”. The Japanese were duped into the war by Hitler by virtue of their feelings of being slighted at the peace table after WWI (they felt dishonored ). All of this to bring us to the present and past at the same time. There has been conflict in the middle east for thousands of years and primarily on a religious basis. Now with modern weapons several factions are determined to do what Hitler attempted to do and impose their will and religion on others even their own countrymen. The UN at best is protesting but doing nothing of merit. The US is being looked to for help and we have given it but we as a country can no longer afford to lead the charge alone, we need the collective assistance of the UN (that is part of their function). We have Russia attempting to return to the post WWI “glory” days of Stalinism in the midst of the middle east problem. As a country our President is attempting to stay out of another protracted conflict and it’s inherent negatives. The big winners in all out conflict led by the US are the same people who are backing many of our Congressmen and women with boatloads of cash. The Shadow people who have benefitted from recent Supreme Court decisions and the stale mate in Congress. Simply put-this is not our “Grandfathers war”. Recently I had to have some software issues resolved on line with an out of country source (India). While we  make jokes about outsourcing but in many cases now the communication is better but still takes awhile to resolve the problems. As I was waiting for stuff to happen the agent engaged me in conversation and in the course of this conversation, I asked where he was located and he told me he was in India. I asked what his opinion of the events occurring in that part of the world and in succinct terms he said: “the ordinary people are just trying to keep their heads down and hope for the best outcome for them. The government  is in dysfunction much as ours is and we just want things to be better.” This leads me to understand that we as people in general need to put more attention on what our government is doing or not doing rather than what is written by the media in general. There are still some media content providers who still provide comprehensive coverage and reporting but the “mainstreamers” in the media are still presenting the attention-getting headlines with no content. It appears to me that reading between the lines should be the rule and not the exception in these times.
